REPRESENTATIVE ENGAGEMENTS Mr. J. W. Watson, chairman of the Auckland Rugby League, stated at last night's meeting that there was every chance of a keen struggle between Manukau and Richmond, which would be the main attraction on "Chairman's Day," August 28. Richmond, he said, was the only team In the first round to defeat Manukau (8 points to 7), and in the second round Manukau won by 6 points to 2. Mr. J. P. Moodabe was thanked for the donation of a special trophy in connection with the match. The curtain-raiser between City and Marist will bo a competition game to dacido the runner-up in the championship. It was decided to advise South Auckland that an Auckland representative team would be available to play at Huntly on Saturday, September IS. Tlie junior representatives will play the curtain-raiser. A letter was read from the Wellington Rugby League seeking permission for the Manukau team to play a match in Wellington later in the season. The secretary was instructed to refer the matter to the Manukau Club for information before any action is taken. The game between Newton end North Shore on Saturday is a Roope Rocster fixture, this competition to commence on September 11. Mr. Watson said instructions had been issued to the Auckland selectors to choose a representative team on Saturday to play the Maori combination on Saturday week. . Saturday's referees: —Manukau v.
