R.A.F. BLAST JAPANESE British Official Wireless Rec. noon. RUGBY, Aug. 20. Royal Air Force Mohawks atattacked a Japanese-held town on the Chindwin River, north of Kelena. Bombs were dropped on the target area and many buildings were hit. Buildings and river craft were machine-gunned and four sampans sunk. On Ramaree Island, bombs were dropped on Kyaukpyu, where buildings were demolished and sampans damaged by machine-gun fire. In the course of a moonlight offensive patrol on Wednesday night a 50ft river steamer and sampans on Kiladam River were sunk. None of our aircraft is missing.
