Standard Insurances sold at £3 14/, a rise of 1/3, this representing the first sale of any insurance shares for over a fortnight. Buyers of South British moved up to *£3 12/9. Recent hardening in Australian Consolidated Industries culminated in a sale at £2 15/6, against £2-13/9 at the end of last month. Woolworths (N.Z.) were Id firmer at 16/4. There was a large turnover in Liberty Loan, 1953-56, 3 per cents.
