OFFICE SAFE STOLEN

AN IMPUDENT THEFT

BUT NO MONEY GAINED

Thieves' who perpetrated an impudent theft from the Banks Box Company's premises, Taylor's Road, Mount Albert, last night were unrewarded as far as money gain was concerned. What tney did get was a big stand safe, weighing about 3cwt, which contained only papers associated with the firm's business.

It is believed that three or four thieves were concerned, and a vehicle must have been used. The crime was committed between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., entrance being gained by the removal of several louvres from a window at the rear of the building. The thieves lifted the safe bodily from an upstairs office and carried it away with them. It has not yet been found.

Detectives are investigating the matter.
