DUNEDIN WEST National.—Brigadier A. S. Falconer. D.5.0., has been selected as the National party s candidate for the Dunedin West seat. He will be opposed by LieutenantCommander P. G. Connolly, D.S.C.. renresenting Labour. / FRANKLIN Independent National.—Mr. Bertram Burin, farmer, of Pukekohe, who was a Reform candidate for Riccarton in 1914 and Manukau in 1925, is contesting the franklin seat as an Independent National. Air. Burin, who is a returned soldier of the last war, has engaged in farming in the North and South Islands, and for a number of years has managed a fruitgrowers organisation in Auckland. The sitting member, Mr. J. N. Massey, is also standing as an Independent National candidate, and has been approved as the National party's official candidate. Five contestants for the Franklin seat have been announced.
