KISKA ATTACKS
EXPECTED PROM AIR AND SEA Rec. 9.30 a.m. . LONDON, July 11. The Japanese on Kiska are desperately changing gun positions and preparing new defences for expected air, land and sea attacks, states the headquarters of the Alaska Defence Command. Raiders report that anti-air-craft fire remains strong. A United States naval communique says that early on Friday morning light American surface units bombarded enemy positions on Kiska for several hours. Japanese shore batteries returned the fire, but caused no damage.
