PRACTICALLY WALKED IN Rec. 2 p.m. LONDON, July 11. The Canadian Press representative with the Canadians says the Canadians practically walked into Sicily behind an enormous naval and air night bombardment. They met very little determined resistance on the landing beaches four miles southwest of Pachino,. They smashed through the beach defences and the infantry attacked inland and established an extensive bridgehead which was their initial task.
