RETURNED SOLDIERS
FAIR TREATMENT ADVOCATED (By TelegTaph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. In the course of a plea for fair treatment for returned soldiers made in the House of Representatives yesterday, Mr. Sutherland (National, Hauraki) suggested that the next High Commissioner to Ottawa should be a returned soldier. Future vacancies in the Legislative Council should be filled by appointing soldiers who had served their country overseas, he added.
