"DESERT VICTORY"
A correspondent writing to the Auckland Star last Saturday inquired why the film "Desert Victory," descriptive of the advance from El Alamein to Tunis, has not been shown here. The explanation given by the Prime Minister to-day is a simple and convincing one. The film has not yet arrived in New Zealand. When it does reach here it will be shown without delay, as special interest attaches to it because it contains many battle scenes in which the New Zealand Division played a conspicuous part. All the "shooting" of the film Avas done on the battlefield, and the difficulties of making an adequate selection for public presentation from the enormous number of incidents taken by the camera, and of preparing the large number of copies required are readily apparent.
