AMERICAN RED CROSS

A concert arranged by the entertainment sub-committee of the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Executive marked the opening last night of a Red Cross building for the patients of a United States Army hospital. The building, which is under the charge of the American Red Cross, contained a library, writing room and a main hall with stage and dressing rooms. The president of the Auckland Baseball Association, Mr. J. C. Herbert, will present trophies won in the American services' and Auckland civilian baseball competitions for the past season at a gathering in the building on Monday evening. The leading teams were Yale and Richmond. This occasion will be the inauguration of a recreation hall built for the enlisted men of the hospital staff.
