GIRAUD'S AMBITION

"I want to reorganise the army with people who know how to fight, who want to fight and who have the means to fight," said General Giraud in a speech broadcast by Algiers radio. "We have 400,000 men under arms. I hope to take 300,000 of them to France. My only ambition is to re-enter Metz as the victor."
