On the 'inside grass at Takanini this morning with the poles 10ft out, the Easter Handicap candidate. Monte Cristo.l in company with the speedy Sleepy Fox, ran six furlongs in 1.14 4-5, the pair finishing well. Royal Merit drew away from Lord Chancellor at the end of a similar journey in 1.16 3-5, Royal Merit winning by three lengths. Representative was* just in fi'bnt of Sea-law after traversing seven furlongs in 1.30 2-5, while Kentish and Balfron sprinted the last four of. five furlongs in 50 3-ss, Master Cameron and Flying Prake taking 51s.
