DEATH FROM WOUNDS
L.-CORPORAL C. H. P. MALOXE Advice has been received that Lance-Corporal Charles Henry Patrick Malone, only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Malone. of 303, New North Road, Kingsland, has died of wounds while on active service. LanceCorporal Malone, who was 2(5 years of age, was educated at Marist
Brothers' School and the Seddon Memorial Technical College. He played Rugby League for Marist Brothers' Old Boys' team and was a keen sportsman. Lance-Corporal Malone left New Zealand with the First Echelon and was taken prisoner at Bardia, while attending to wounded soldiers. He was rescued by the British, but was wounded in the action on Ruweisat Ridge. On recovery, he was posted with his unit, but was wounded again, in the recent Allied drive.
