ACCOMMODATION MILK
The Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council made a decision at a meeting last evening to allow vending companies to lew an additional cartage charge on milk against dairymen vendors purchasing supplies in excess of their normal requirements.
The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company pointed out, in a letter, that milk at present being brought from Waitakaruru was costing 2d a gallon for cartage. Supplies from the Hauraki Plains were due to an extent to the demands of the producer-vendors and those Avho normally bought direct from farmers, who were now going to the company for accommodation supplies. It was explained that there would be no additional charge to regular vendors.
The chairman, Mr. Goldstine said the additional charge was fair and equitable to all concerned.
