STORM IN FAR NORTH
WHANGAREI, Monday.
The storm that broke the long dry spell in the far north continued throughout the week-end, developing into an electrical storm of great intensity. Torrential rain fell at Te Paki, S.4in being registered in 48 hours. Winds reached gale force. An c-iectrical transformer at Oruru was struck by lightning, the top being blown off.- It was recovered 100 yards away.
