OPPOSED FASCISM
Australian And New Zealand Trade Unions LONDON PAPER'S TRIBUTE Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, April 5. Australian and New Zealand trade unions for the past ten years have valiantly opposed world Fascist tendencies, says Reynolds Weekly News. In a tribute to these unions on the eve of the opening of the Empire Trade Union Congress on April 12, the paper says: "They have opposed particularly the Fascist of Japan. Australian wharf labourers have spent months striking and going to gaol to prevent nickel and scrap iron being sent to Japan. New Zealand trade unionists ten years ago risked punishment for distributing anti-war leaflets aboard Japanese ships."
