BUSINESS SUBDUED
There was a steady but subdued tone when business resumed on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day. In the only sale notified on the official list at the first call Westport-Stockton Coals sold at 3/6, a rise of 7d, reflecting the tajk of possible Government purchase of the mine. Colonial Sugars were in better demand, with offers raised to £54 15/, 5/ above last sale price. Most quotations showed little variation from closing levels.
