GRAFTON-AGAIN

VICTORY OVER SHORE

BURKE TAKES EIGHT FOR 41

The wickets were in splendid order following the dry spell of weather.

Burke took eight wickets for 41 runs against North Shore at Devonport. These two teams recently fought out the championship final, when Grafton was successful by two wickets. The champions again came out on top last Saturday after dismissing their opponents for 85.

In the principal attraction at Eden Park, Parnell lost only two wickets in gaining the necessary . runs against Unlversity-Middlemore, which was •without the services of one of its stock bowlers, S. V. Albrecht.

B. Sutcliffe (93 not but) played a fine knock as opening batsman for Parnell. He and M. Clark (38) added 98 for the second wicket. Later, S. J. Matthews hit out freely for 46 not out.

A solid innings by P. M. Elliott for 74 Cnot out) saved University from a bad position. A valuable partnership between Elliott and G. D. Langton. (26) yielded 69 for the seventh wicket.
