FIRST MEETING
DANISH ASSOCIATION
The first annual meeting of the Danish Association in New Zealand was held in Auckland last week. Mr. Knutzen took the chair, and in his opening remarks he said the Free Danish Movement was not only in New Zealand, but was part of a world-wide movement, of which the motto was: "With Great Britain for Denmark's liberation." The Royal Vice-Consul for Denmark, Mr. C. G. Macindoe, was the guest of honour and was elected patron of the association. In his address Mr. Macindoe made reference to the recent election held in Denmark and said that the Danes had the respect and admiration of the entire world. He would look forward to the future when he would like to see thousands of Danes coming out under a new immigration policy. The following officers were elected:—Dominion president, Mr. C. Langkilde; vice-presidents, Sir Hugh Johansen, Mr. Niels Neilsen; secre-tary-treasurer, Mrs. N. Christie.
