RAILWAYS REVENUE UP
(0.C.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. A net revenue of £285,330, or £24,963 more than for the corresponding period last year, is shown by the railway working account for the four weeks ended January 30. The gross revenue for the period was £1,194,846, an increase of £155,734. Expenditure was £909,516, or £130,771 higher.
Earnings for the period from April 1 to January 30 totalled £11,292,585,an increase of £1,705,727, and expenses amounted to £9,110,467, or £805,017 higher than for the same period last year. The net profit was £2,182,118, compared with £1,281,408, an increase of £900,710.
