MEET THE GREMLINS
AVIATION'S FOLK LAW N.Z. WOMAN'S WEEKLY From the R.A.F. have come .stories of the most interesting and troublesome Little People that ever belonged to folk lore. The Gremlins, who are really aerial pixies, take a delight in having picnics on the wings of R.A.F. planes, digging holes in airfields, punching holes in flyingboat floats and playing a thousand other such pranks. Though naughty and troublesome they are not malicious. In fact they are supposed to be definitely on the side of the United Nations. A story in this week's issue of the Woman's Weekly telis of those Little People who play such an important part in the lives of the R.A.F. Flyers. Another interesting article in the issue tells of queer old cures. What appears to be the rankest superstition has a trick of turning out to be perfectly sound medical science often enough to make some' learned authority's face slightly red. Even good old common sense can't be trusted too far. The magazine contains a number of other entertaining features in addition to two complete short stories. This week the Free Pattern Service offers readers their choice from five smart styles.
