MEDICAL PREMISES
MINISTER'S INSPECTION
Following representations made to the Minister of Defence,: Mr. Jones, regarding the conditions under which sick and wounded are medically boarded at Rutland/Street, the Minister yesterday made a thorough inspection of the premises. The matter ;was brought to his notice by the Auckland Returned Services Association, and suggestions were made by the association whereby the- accommodation afia other conditions, considered altogether unsuitable, could" be improved. The Minister was accompanied on his inspection by a representative of the Returned Services' Association and also by Colonel White, officer commanding. He showed a - keen desire to go thoroughly into the suggestions placed, before him, ana spent nearly an hour and a half on the premises. He discussed the sug-*' gestions of the Returned Services Association for improvement antl undertook to give the matter immediate consideration.
