IMPROVEMENT NOTED
The main features of the track work at Ellerslie this morning were a half-mile sprint T>v Kraal and five furlongs b> Xizarn. Landveyor also went vi ell o\ ei a round. No. 2 grass track was in use, and provided excellent going. Beginning smartly, Kraal got to the end of four furlongs in 495. She was her work well at the finish. Nizam had Subadar as a companion over five furlongs, and beat him home in 1.3. It was a good effort, and Nizam has made noticeable improvement during the last couple of weeks. . „ Landvevor traversed a round in 1.4—. He had Bed Warden to assist him over the last six furlongs, which they rap in 1.16. They were together at the finish. Other gallops were:— Three furlongs: AVee Pay, 40 2-os, \ictorv Lass (tan), 395. _ Five furlongs: Purple Vermeer, 1.4 4-o. Six furlongs: Lord Defoe and Bionzo 1 16 2-5; Silver Coin and Lady Ex, 1.16 2-5; British Talent, I.IS 1-5. Round: Ugly Duckling, 1.4q 3-o. Sir Cameron and "Watchett completed a round on the tan in 1.55, their last six furlongs taking 1.20 l-o and the final half-mile 52 3-ss.
