Ferry Command Bomber Crash In Newfoundland

"TOP NOTCH" AIR CREWS LOST

Rec. 9.30 a.m. MONTREAL, Feb. 14. The Ferry Command announces that a Royal Air Force Liberator bomber crashed in Newfoundland. One survivor died from injuries, which brings the total deaths to 19. Two other survivors were service personnel. They were not injured. The aircraft, after completing the flight from England, crashed at night in bad weather. The men who were killed are described as "top notch" air crews who delivered aircraft to Britain. A Washington message states that Captain F. A. Dugan, of the Royal Air Force Ferry Command, and holder of the record round-trip crossings between .Canada and England, was killed while on active duty in Newfoundland on Thursday night.
