LAST WAR SERVICE

MRS. MARY ANN SCOTT Mrs. Mary Ann Scott, wife of the Rev. D. D. Scott, of Khandallah, Wellington, has died. Born in Westray, one of the Orkney Islands, she accompanied her father and other members of her family to New Zealand when eight years old. Until her marriage in 1905 she lived near Riversdale, Southland. For 28 years Mrs. Scott was associated with the Presbyterian Church in Onehunga during her husband's ministry, but two years of this period were spent near Trentham camp during the Great War. The military authorities granted her a pass to enter the camp at any hour, and she gave much time to providing for the soldiers, and also for their relatives. For nearly 10 years she was in Khandallah. She is survived by her husband and two sons.
