TURKS WATCHING

KERCH STRAIT RETREAT Rec. 1 p.m. LONPON, Feb. 10. "Turks are interestedly watching the fate of the Germans in the Caucasus, whose only retreat is by Kerch Strait," says The Times Istanbul correspondent. "There are only 17 Axis ships in the Black Sea besides a number of barges, the seaworthiness of which is questionable. "These ships may be used for evacuation, but the Russian fleet is always master of the Black Sea and will certainly seriously interfere with evacuation, perhaps causing a disaster resembling that of Stalingrad."
