TAURANGA SECTION PLAY
Nine rinks qualified yesterday in the Tauranga combined bowling clubs' open tournament;, in which post-section play was scheduled to start to-morrow. The only unbeaten team in the sectional contests was that skipped by L. J. Keys (Auckland). Two other city sides also qualified— lyiincham (Grey Lynn) and Brown (West End). The other six were:—McGonagle (Waihi), Bartlett (Tauranga), Powell (Te Aroha), Stewart (Matamata), Bridges (Frankton)' and Crabb (Matamata). Seven victories qualified for postsection plan, in which the leading skips were:— Section A.—McGonagle (Waihi), 7 wins; Moncur (Tauranga), Mclnnes (Te Awamutu), Powkes (Rotorua), 6; Ross (Epsom), 5; Higson (Tauranga South), Brooke (St. Heller's), 4. Section B.—Mincham (Grey Lynn), 8; Bartlett (Tauranga South). 7; Hadwin (Carlton), Exelby (Frankton), 6; Pole (Tauranga), Maingay (Te Aroha), 5; Doherty (Devonport), 4. Section C.—Powell (Te Aroha), 8: McFarlane (Cambridge), McClymont (Ponsonby), Gardiner (Otahuhu), 6: Potter (Tauranga), 5; Little (Carlton), Stevenson (Rangiriri), 4. Section D.—Brown (West End), Stewart (Matamata), Bridges (Frankton), 6: Ure (Auckland), Robinson (Carlton), Kirk (Tauranga), 5; Burt (Tauranga South), Penman (Huntly), 4. Section E.—Crabb (Matamata), 7; Deare (Carlton). Luxton (Frankton), Grant (Te Awamutu), 6; McCullough (Tauranga), Spratt (Te Puke), Firth (Mount Albert), 5.
