HOUSING COMPETITION
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The results o£. the competition sponsored by the Rehabilitation Board and the Housing Department for a pre-fabricated or partly prefabricated system of construction for extensive development and for house furniture, were announced to-day by the chairman of the board, Mr. M. Moohan. The assessors' awards in A section (designs for pre-fabricated group totally fabricated in factories before delivery to site and designs of sections partly fabricated in factories and completed on site) were as follows:—First price, £350: R. T. Walker and Paul Pascoe, A.R.1.8.A., Christchurch. Second prize, £100: C. Firth and W. R. Drummond, Public Works Department, Wellington. Third prize, £60: Sergeant Thomas James Haiselden, Wellington. Fourth prize, £40: F. H. Beckett, A.N.Z.1.A., F.R.S.A., Auckland. In section B (most economical and efficient plumbing system) there was no first prize award. The second prize of £10 was won by B. Dymock, Auckland. In section F (furniture) second prize of £2 for single and double beds and second prize for a dressing table were awarded to G. C. Goode and Company, Limited, Auckland.
