NOT AT WAR WITH JAPAN
BRAZIL CONTRADICTS REPORT RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 8. The Brazilian Foreign Minister, Senor Oswaldo Aranha, contradicting yesterday's report which announced that Brazil was joining the United Nations as a full partner in the war against Germany and Italy, said that it did not mean a declaration of war against Japan. He added: "Our position is comparable with the RussoJapanese relations. We are not at war with Japan because we have not been attacked by Japan, but if Japan attacks us we will fight her immediately."
