FLYING-OFFICER'S DEATH
Flying-Officer Walter Donald McKay, recently killed in an aircraft accident in- the South Island, was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. D. J. McKay, of Bayswater and Mangonui. He was born at Mangonui and educated at Mount Albert Grammar School. He was a member of the Grammar Old Boys' Rugby Football Club, and was a keen cricketer. Flying-Officer McKay Joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force two years ago, gaining his wings and commission in June of last year, and was appointed an instructor shortly before his death.
