ELLERSLIE ITEMS ADDITION TO TEAM A recent addition to W. J. McLean's team is Honeywood, formeriy trained at Takanini. KELATED TO KILTOWYN Although Miss Cambria was only making her second appearance in public when she contested the Calnope Handicap last Saturday, her effort was \iery encouraging. This relative to that g*od performer Kiltowyn is endowed Witt plenty of speed, and when properly seasoned should pay her way. HAS THE SPEED As on previous occasions, Wee Pay showed abundance of speed in the Trial Stakes at Ellerslie last Saturday, but the mile journey was a little beyond her. The daughter of Autopsy and Wee Pat can go fast, and the first time she races over a shorter distance and on a turning track it will take a smart galloper to head her off. NOT BEING OVERTAXED Nothing in the way of strenuous tasks have been required of Nizam since, he returned from the Wellington meeting. He lightened up on the trip, but is m regular work and should not take long to freshen up again. This three-year-old s form has been patchy, but there is no doubt regarding his pace. HIS TURN WILL COME The race that Richelieu had last week sharpened him up a good deal, and he looks an improved colt. This two-year-old has not been hurried, and is one ot the robust sort that promises to do well later on. IS SHAPIXG WELL On several occasions lately British Talent has been schooled over hurdles at Ellerslie, and has shown plenty ot ability. He will be given an opportunity aq a iiimner when he has had more exper?cnce The fact that British Talent has always raced best when the ground has been soft should enable him to do well at the jumping business during the winter season.
