STATE BREWERIES
RISE FOR WORKERS
LONDON. More than 400 employees in the State breweries and hotels at Carlisle received an increase of wages dating back to June 1. One hundred are barmaids or parttime barmaids, who got an increase of 3/ a week. Men workers received 4/, women 5/, and others in the retail trade, such as women cafe workers, 7/6. The Increases are the result of
negotiations between the National Union of General and Municipal 'Workers and the Carlisle State ManScheme.
