LIEUT-COLONEL LYNCH
Advice of the death from wounds, while a prisoner of war in Italy, of Lieutenant-Colonel Raymond James Lynch, M.C., aged 31, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Lynch, of 70, Sarsfield Street, Heme Bay, has been received by' his wife, Mrs. Glenis Lynch, of Whangarei. Decorated with the Military Cross after serving as a captain with the Auckland Infantry in Greece and Crete, Lieut.-
Colonel Lynch took an active part in the Libyan and Egyptian campaigns as second-in-command of the ISth (Auckland) Battalion, and succeeded to the command of the Battalion on the death of Brigadier Gray in June last.
