ONEHUNGA COUNCIL
The monthly meeting ot the Onehunga Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr. J Park, presiding. Waterworks Extension.—The council confirmed the special rate of Id in the £ to meet interest and sinking fund on the loan o£ £42,500, arrangements for the raising of which were finalised. The loan Is for 25 years at V/ 2 per cent, repayable in half-yearly instalments. Application will be made to the Cornwall Park trustees for a site near the present one for a reservoir of 3,000,000 irallona capacity. _ Loan for shelters. —The Government Loans Board advised that the council's application to raise a loan of £3500 under the provisions of the Emergency shelter regulations, 1942. had been granted. Donation to Sailors' Home. —The council donated £2 2/ to this fund.
