BELIEVE PACIFIC PRESSURE

Accelerated American bombing raids, ranging over South China, Indo-China, Thailand and Burma, are designed to relieve the Japanese pressure on the Solomons and New Guinea, says the New York Times correspondent at Chungking, quoting observers. The Chinese military spokesman declared that the Japanese have been shifting their troops and planes southward to meet the Allied island offensive.
