Pilot-Officer Evison flew out from England toward the end of April last year. After being in Irak for a time, he came to the desert. When bombing over Bengasi his plane was damaged by anti-aircraft fire and in landing at a desert aerodrome crashed into another machine fullv loaded with bombs and petrol. He was rescued from the blazing plane while at intervals bombs were bursting, but he suffered so severely from ourns and cuts that he was off dutv for seven months.
