N.Z. AIRMEN VISITED

Special Correspondent

LONDON, Oct. 1

The New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, during a visit to Scotland, went to a Coastal Command training station, where New Zealanders are learning to fly Beauforts and other types of planes. He met Wing-Commander V. C. Darling, who is succeeding WingCommander James Brown as commanding officer of the New Zealand Torpedo-Bomber Squadron. They are both English.

Mr. Jordan also met SquadronLeader J. S. Dinsdale, D.F.C., of Te Kuiti, who is an instructor, PilotOfficers N. R. Crompton and W. H. C. Toombs, of Christchurch, T. H. Davidson, of Rotorua, R. H. Richardson, of New Plymouth, and M. C. Thorburn and J. S. Newcomb, of Auckland; Sergeants A. H. Knewstubb and R. M. Brown, of Dunedin, D. L. White, of Gisborne, I. C. Riddell, of Wellington. E. F. Johnson, C. N. Palmer, J. T. Steele and W. O. Tuck, of Auckland, A. C. Smart, of Cromwell, D. G. Simes, of Shannon, R. M. Robinson, of Waihi, J. J. O'Connor and D. Whitworth, of Christchurch.

Some of these men will probably be posted to the New Zealand Torpedo-Bomber Squadron when they have completed their course.

Mr. Jordan also called on Sir Charles Fergusson, former GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, and met Mr. J. R. Lockie, of Wellington, who is now clerk of the Ary County Council. Mr. Jordan intended flying across Scotland to see the torpedobomber squadron, but the weather was unfavourable.
