AERO CLUB PLANES
At the annual meeting of the Auckland Aero Club last night the president, Mr. F. B. Cadman, said that two Rearwin aircraft imported last December, were to be sold for £1700 to the Air Department, The aircraft, which had cost more than £2000, had never been flown. The buildings at Mangere were not now available to the club and negotiations with regard to rent were proceeding.
Four members of the club were acting as officers in the Air Training Corps, said Mr. Cadman. Fifteen members had been reported, killed on active service, or missing, believed killed. One member had been reported missing. Mr. Cadman referred to the death of Mr. Spencer R. Mason, one of the founders of the club and a former president.
The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. F. B. Cadman; club captain, Mr. W. J. Sexton; secretary, Mr. L. W. Swan; committee, Messrs. W. L. Wiseman, S. E. Langstone, F. M. Buzie, and Pilot Officer C. A. Watchlin.
