SIGNALMAN'S DEATH
The death has occurred of Mr. James Joseph Lyon, aged 61, of Howick, who until his recent retirement was chief signalman at the Mount Victoria signal station. Mr. Lyon was chief signalman at Tiri Tiri Island from 1917 to 1933, later chief signalman at King's wharf, and took up duties on Mount Victoria, when the station was moved there in 1935. He is survived by his wife.
