MEETING AT PAEROA
The committee of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club met last evening and decided to proceed with its meeting on Saturday next, in spite of the restrictions upon travelling. OMISSION' FROM WEIGHTS Fight On, 7.11, was omitted from the list of horses weighted for the Gordon Handicap at the Auckland Racing Club's spring meeting, which is to be held at Kllerslie on October 10. DUNEDIN GI I.NE.4S Warrigal and King Herod were not entered for the Dunedin Guineas, to be run on October 10, and their absence will considerably weaken the field for next month's classic. John Gay is booked for the trip, and his strongest opponent will now be Botany, which has not appeared since his success at Riccarton last month. Botany is to be ridden by A. E. Didham, who had the mount on Warrigal at Ashburton. Botany's breederowner, llr. D. Grant, is also represented in the list by Pallid, a chestnut gelding by Man's Pa! from Pink Link, a sister to Kinnoull, but which is likely to go south for the Novice Handicap at the meeting. Pallid attracted notice by his impressive effort at Ashburton. He acted as pacemaker during the middle stages of the Novice Stakes, and finished a close third to Tutere and Eulogia. This was Pall id's first appearance in public.
