AUCKLANDER WINS D.S.O.

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The following list of honours and awards for members of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force was announced to-night.

Distinguished Service Order. — Major John Nesbit. Anderson, Auckland; Major Albert Ernest Lambourn, Petone.

Military Cross. — Major Andrew Edgar Beyer, Yarraville, Australia; Second-Lieutenant Robert Edgeworth Horrocks, Parnell, Auckland; Lieutenant Leslie Edward McAneny, Wellington; Major Hugh Murray Reid, Oamaru; Captain Ronald George Stevens, Wellington; Lieutenant Reginald Douglas Trounson, Maropiu, Dargaville.

Distinguished Conduct Medal.— Corporal Ronald Francis Garmonsway, Taihape.

Military Medal.—Sergeant Allan Ernest Branks, Invercargill; LanceCorporal William John Clark, Waikanae; Lance-Sergeant Stanley Conway, Christchurch; Sergeant Andrew John Duckworth, Te Puke; Corporal Alan Riddell Hedley, Wairoa; Driver Charles Frederick Robinson, Riccarton; Private James Henry Savage Ahaura, West Coast.

Second-Lieutenant R. E. Horrocks is the second son of Mrs. N. R. Horrocks and the late Mr. Lindsay Horrocks, of 2, Saltburn Road, Takapuna. Second-L,ieutenant Horrocks was educated at Takapuna Grammar School, and prior to his enlistment was employed by the Whakatane Paper Mills, Ltd. He was a keen golfer and a member of the Middlemore Golf Club.

Major Beyer is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Beyer, of Yarraville, Victoria, and came to New Zealand nine years ago. He left for overseas as a lieutenant in the Third Echelon. Major Beyer was a former Auckland Rugby representative, and has also represented Australia at Rugby and Victoria at Association football.
