ORAKEI MAORI VILLAGE
I support the letters of Mary ABeagle and D. Burleigh on the above subject. I think too much consideration is being given to the legal position and not sufficient to the moral or ethical side of the question. I engaged in an effort to bring about Iriendly relationship with American and other Allies. Should we not practice this in our own country? The loss of the few acres of land in dispute is of small consequence, but it oners a great opportunity for * friendly gesture towards the Maori race to whom we have not been ove£ generous in the past. I think it would Picase most people if the land is lot in the possession of the present occu* pants and they be given a clear title to it. The old buildings should b® removed and others erected whlcß would be a joy for the Maoris to U*? in and a pleasure to the eye and tfif heart of passers bv. "GFORGE FINN.
