OHAKEI MAORI VILLAGE
As one who has often spoken privately on Maori affairs, with the splendid example of Mr. George Graham before me. 1 feel that I too should voice my opinion in public. There are many pakeha people who like the Maori so long as he keeps his distance: they have no real inter* est in his culture or history. This results in action detrimental to the Maori. I too would like to see Orakei preserved as a permanent home for the Xcati-Whauia. and feel sure that with pakeha co-operation the native inhabitants will build® model viliage wonhv of the Maori people.
