LEAGUE SEASON ENDS ON SEPT. 26
*' .At the weekly meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control, it was decided to close the 1942 on Saturday, September 26, when -the champion of champions matcb will be played between Manukau and the winner of the Roope Rooster competition. It was also decided to suspend the Phelan Shield contest for the year and carry it on next season if the .way is clear.
It is expected that the South Auckland junior representatives will visit Auckland to meet tbe Auckland juniors on the last day of the season.
Mr. J. W. Watson, the chairman, reported that all arrangements had been completed for the visit of Manukau to Wellington this week-end.
Fixtures for Saturday:—Roope Rooster: CityOto.iuhu v. North Shore-Marist. Carlaw Park No. 1, 3 p.m., G. Kelly; Richmond v. Ponsonby, Carlaw Park No. 1, 1.45 p.m., J. Donovan.
