EXEMPTION APPEALS RAILWAY AND TRANSPORT Nearly a hundred appeals for exemption from military service, lodged by the Railway Department on behalf of employees, were heard by the No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board yesterday afternoon. In most cases an indefinite postponement of military service was given. About twenty appeals on behalf of Auckland Transport Board employees were also dealt with.

An adjournment sine die was granted as follows:—

In dismissing tne appeal of Massey Harris and Co., Ltd., on behalf of G. Ronald Gemmell, the board made an order that the reservist be not called up before a certain date. The appeal George V. Mullanger, Ltd., on behalf of Allan E. P. Walters was dismissed.
