Axis Powers

The British Ambassador to U.S.A., Viscount Halifax, conferred with the Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, for 90 minutes to-day, states a Washington message. Lord Halifax, who returned to America on Saturday from London, said the British were looking forward to further offensive action against the Axis. The Ambassador added that he hadfound m-uch second front talk in Britain and that talk represented the growth of an offensive spirit everywhere. With it there was a sensible recognition of the fact that the technical staffs were the best judges of how, when and where.
Mr. Richard Law, Foreign UnderSecretary, is paying Lord Halifax a short visit during the Parliamentary recess, at the latter's invitation. The visit wih be purely informal and for the purpose of keeping in touch with British-American questions.
