When some carbide exploded while ne was playing at home yesterday, Derus Anthony Carter, aged 15, a schoolboy, son of Mr. G. Carter, of 114, Calliope Road, Devonport, suffered burns to the face and eyes H" was admitted to the Auckland Hospital and his condition to-day was satisfactory.
