Brigadier F. T. Bowerbank, 0.8. E., Director-General of Medical Services, returned to Wellington last night. Mr. J. Eliot Weil has b§en appointed United States Vice-Consul in Wellington, and Mr. Paul Paddock, United States Vice-Consul in Auckland. Mr. Joseph Thomas Sheffield was admitted as a barrister and solicitor to the Supreme Court of New Zealand to-day by Mr. Justice Fair, on the motion of Mr. Kalman. Captain Moritz W. Vaumund. superintendent for the Norwegian Shipping and Trade Mission t>> New Zealand, travelled to We'ilnvton last night, accompanied bv Commander W. O. Thorensen," Rova! Norwegian Navy. Mr. J. A. Bush, of Marton.* haretired from the position of president of the Dominion Federal e<j Sawmillers' Association after occupying that position for nine veaVs. Mr. L E. H.
