CAPTAIN'S WIDOW

CONCERN FOR OTHERS

In an interview Mrs. Frank Getting, widow of Captain Getting, said that her husband had died as he would have wished. "I am veryproud of Frank. He was willing to give all for his country. He was a brave man, and I know he would have expected me to be brave in the loss I have suffered. I have suffered, but I am more grieved since I have learned the number of casualties, and realise the number of homes that will be broken up by the loss of the men of the Canberra. I express my deepest sympathy with the wives and mothers of those who went down with my husband. It is now up to us to see that the men lost with the Canberra have not given up their lives in vain."

Mrs. Getting said that she had been married only four years.
