PROMOTED MAJOR
Mr. and Mrs. Val Kirk, of Inkerman Street. Onehunga, have received a cable from their son, formerly Captain Geofrey Kirk, stating tliat he has been promoted major, and is fit and well. Major Kirk was commis-
sioned six years ago, at the age of 19. while serving with the territorials. He left for overseas with the second echelon, and served through the Greece, Crete and Libyan campaigns, and has apparently been in action with the New Zeaianders in Egypt.
